These terms cover your use of privatecheffinder.co.uk and the chef directory on it. By using the site you accept them. If you don't, please don't use the site.

About these terms

privatecheffinder.co.uk is operated by Lunar Links Digital Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 15662799, registered office: 3rd Floor, 45 Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London W1S 4JL, United Kingdom, trading as Private Chef Finder. You must be 18 or over to contact a chef through the site, leave a review or apply as a chef.

Using this website

Please use the site lawfully, and don't attempt to disrupt it, scrape it at volume, or submit information that isn't yours. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site, including any page or feature, at any time, and we don't guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

The directory

Private Chef Finder is a directory of independent private chefs. We approve each chef before their profile is published, and you contact the chefs you choose directly, using the contact details they've agreed to show. We don't cook, we don't employ the chefs, we don't take bookings or payment for your event, we don't read or pass on messages between you and a chef, and we're not a party to any agreement you reach with a chef.

That means a few things you should know:

• We don't guarantee that a chef will be available, that a chef will respond to you, or that a chef will accept your booking.
• Prices, menus, availability and dietary arrangements are agreed directly between you and the chef. Prices shown on profiles are the chef's own guide; we don't set or verify them.
• Any dispute about a booking, a payment, food, service or conduct is between you and the chef.
• Chefs are independent businesses responsible for their own food hygiene, insurance, licensing and compliance with the law.

Contact details. Chefs choose which contact details appear on their profile. Please use them only to ask about hiring the chef, not to send marketing or unsolicited messages, and don't collect or republish them. Links to chefs' own websites take you to sites we don't control and aren't responsible for. We count profile views and how often contact details are revealed, without identifying you, so we can tell chefs how their profile is doing.

Reviews. You can review a chef you've booked. Reviews must be your own honest opinion of a booking that really happened, and mustn't be abusive, defamatory, off topic or written for or against a chef in exchange for anything. We send each review to the chef so they can confirm the booking, and we may publish, decline or remove a review at our discretion, including after a chef has confirmed it. We publish good and bad reviews alike, and we don't let chefs edit or pay to remove reviews.

If a profile, price, review or message on the site looks dishonest or inaccurate, tell us and we'll look into it and remove what we can't stand behind.

Disclaimer

Private Chef Finder is here to connect people with independent chefs, and nothing more. We are not a chef, caterer, agency or employer, and we don't supervise, control or vouch for any chef.

What we don't check. We don't check chefs' qualifications, training, food hygiene certificates, food business registration, hygiene ratings, insurance, references, criminal records, kitchens or equipment. A profile on this site is not an endorsement, a recommendation or a guarantee of any kind.

Your choice, your agreement. Choosing a chef, and everything you agree with them (menu, price, deposit, cancellation, allergens, timings and anything else), is entirely between you and the chef. You hire any chef you find through this site at your own risk. Before you book, ask the chef directly about anything that matters to you, especially allergies, food hygiene and insurance.

What we're not responsible for. To the fullest extent the law allows, Private Chef Finder is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, injury, illness, allergic reaction, theft, damage to property, cancellation, no-show, overcharging or dispute arising from a chef's food, service, conduct, equipment or presence in your home, or from any booking or payment between you and a chef.

For chefs. The same applies in reverse: we're not responsible for customers you meet through the site, for payments they owe you, or for anything that happens at an event.

For chefs

Chef applications are read by us, and listing is at our discretion. We may decline or remove a listing at any time. We only show the contact details you've agreed to show, and you can ask us to change or hide them at any time. When a customer reviews you, we'll email you to confirm the booking. Please confirm every genuine booking, including reviews you don't like; we may still publish a review if we're satisfied it's genuine. We don't ask for or check certificates, registration or insurance. By applying you confirm the information you give us is accurate, and that you're an independent business solely responsible for your own food safety, allergen information, food business registration, insurance, tax and compliance with the law. While the directory is being built, joining is free; if that changes we'll tell you in writing before any charge would fall due.

Our blog and other content

Recipes, guides and articles on this site are published for general information. Cooking involves risk: you're responsible for food safety, allergen management, and correct handling and cooking of ingredients in your own kitchen. We describe what we believe to be good practice, but we can't see your kitchen or your ingredients.

We aim to be accurate and we correct mistakes when we find them. See our editorial policy.

Intellectual property

The text, layout, design and images we produce belong to Private Chef Finder or our contributors. You're welcome to read, share links and quote briefly with credit. You're not permitted to copy substantial parts of the site, or republish our content as your own, without written permission. Images supplied by chefs remain the property of those chefs.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we're not liable for the acts or omissions of independent chefs, for any booking or payment between you and a chef, for any loss of profit or opportunity, or for indirect or consequential losses.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer protections of your home nation still apply.

Changes

We may update these terms; the revised version applies from the moment it's published here. These terms were last updated on 27 October 2026.
