Policies
Cookie Policy
What we store in your browser, why, and how to turn statistics off.
This is a short policy, because we keep cookies and browser storage to a minimum.
The short version
We don't use advertising cookies, social media pixels or cross-site trackers, and we don't build profiles of you to sell to anyone. We store at most three small items in your browser: your statistics choice, a statistics session identifier (unless you turn statistics off) and, only for our own administrators, a sign-in token.
What we store
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
pcf-statistics-choice | Remembers whether you chose OK or turned statistics off | Until you change your choice or clear your browser storage | Stores your preference |
base44_analytics_session_id | A random identifier our website platform uses to group the pages viewed in one visit for our statistics | Until you clear your browser storage. Deleted straight away if you turn statistics off | Statistics |
base44_access_token | Keeps an administrator signed in. Never set for visitors | Until the administrator signs out | Strictly necessary |
These are stored using your browser's local storage rather than as cookies, but the same rules apply to them.
Statistics
Our statistics are run by our website platform, Base44, on our behalf. They record the page you're on, the page you came from and any campaign tags in the link, and how long a visit lasts. We use them only to see which pages are useful and to improve the site. They are not used for advertising and are not shared with advertisers.
UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025) allows a website to use storage like this for statistics without asking first, provided it explains what it does clearly and gives you a simple, free way to object. The notice at the foot of every page does exactly that.
Turning statistics off
Choose Turn off statistics in the notice at the foot of any page. Statistics stop immediately, the session identifier is deleted, and nothing further is recorded from your browser. You can change your mind at any time with Change your choice.
Fonts and images
Our fonts are served from our own website, not from Google Fonts, so loading a page doesn't connect you to Google. Images are delivered by our website platform's image service.
Managing storage yourself
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear site storage. Doing so won't stop the public site from working. The Information Commissioner's Office has guidance on cookies and similar technologies at ico.org.uk.
