How it works

A simple way to find a private chef

A directory of independent private chefs, each approved before they're listed. No booking fees, no middleman, no invented promises.

    Search the directory

    Filter chefs by area, cuisine, budget, guest numbers and rating. Chefs who cover your area come first, but you can contact any chef you like, wherever they're based. There's no form to fill in and no account to create.

    Contact the chefs you like

    Each profile shows the contact details the chef has chosen to share: a phone number, an email address or a link to their website. Get in touch directly and tell them your date, location, guests, occasion, dietary needs and budget. Please mention Private Chef Finder.

    Agree everything with the chef

    The chef talks you through the menu, dietary requirements, timings and price. You agree everything between you and book directly with them. Afterwards you can leave a review on their profile, which we ask the chef to confirm before it appears.

What we do

  • Approve every chef before their profile goes live.
  • Show only the contact details each chef has agreed to share.
  • Ask the chef to confirm each review before it's published, and publish good and bad reviews alike.
  • Publish a blog with guides to private chef costs, dinner parties and menus, with sources for the figures we quote.

What we don't do

  • Cook, employ chefs, take bookings or take payment for your event.
  • Read or pass on your messages to chefs, or take part in your booking.
  • Guarantee a chef, a price or a specific date.
  • Check chefs' qualifications, food hygiene, insurance or kitchens, or take responsibility for their food and service.
  • Take a cut of the chef's fee or charge you anything.

What it costs you

Using Private Chef Finder is free. You pay the chef directly, on the terms you agree with them, and we don't add a booking fee on top. Chefs are listed free of charge while we build the directory.
